I’m always tired-Why? Is there a Solution?

Intro-Think about it, sleep is one of the best things in the world and probably something we could all do forever. However, getting the right amount of it has been one of the biggest misconceptions of my life. As someone who has been busy lately and knows that sleep is important, I am always tired which affects my entire day. It feels terrible when I can’t do anything in my day because my mind always goes back to how tired I am. It was only until my later years did I actually understand the science behind a good night sleep. ( I truly recommend doing your own research about sleep) It’s not just about the amount of sleep but also the quality, and that’s something every site should/will tell you. The first thing that comes up are how drinking too much coffee is not the best and that changing our diet will improve our bodies. While none of these are incorrect statements they don’t really attack the problem at hand. Diet, coffee, physical exercise and controlling amount of extra vitamins are things to look, I want to look at sleep or the practices needed for some relief.

Sleep itself lets the body regenerate and fix itself in various ways. The body needs time every day to heal from all the physical and mental stresses in one’s life. Sleep creates its own melatonin & Adenosine, which allows the body to better sleep, proving that total darkness is great for the body at night. Yet for many difficult reasons sleep is hard for many of us to get on a daily basis. From my experience it comes when we want to stay up, we can’t sleep( something is in our mind) , or when we just have difficulty sleep at times. This will and can eventually cause problems with our bodies and mind. When the body doesn’t get enough energy or no sleep, that’s when the problems truly start in the imbalances. Some common things we hear as a society are that we are sleep deprived and have insomnia but maybe it something called fatigue syndrome.(https://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/health/conditionsandtreatments/chronic-fatigue-syndrome-cfs) While this isn’t to diagnose a specific person it is to make sure you start doing your own research. Doing research is so important and people just aren’t taking the time to look at books or even the internet. From what I read all these factors are cramped into one specific group ,which is how we live or our lifestyle. While some people brag about not getting enough sleep because of something big last night, afterwhile it all catches up. Make getting the right amount and quantity of sleep a priority in your life because it makes it feel so much better. Just because you sleep alot doesn’t mean, it will make you feel better. The quality of sleep is far more important than how much you get, and I could prove that by examining my 40 min nap every day since I started my routine. A nap really shouldn’t be 2 hours long because one can still feel extremely tired and horrible for wasting that much time. That goes with the science of sleep since the 40 min allows for the brain not to go into deep sleep or REM sleep. The 40 min nap allows for not to be fully asleep but give the brain/body to get some rest during the day.

Create a simple but easy routine when it comes to sleep. While some people are not affected by sleep there are many who suffer because they are always tired. I’ve dealt with that during my high school early years since I never slept correctly. It affected my wrestling career and held me back from doing my best. It was one of my biggest regrets in life, since it hurt me being the best possible version I could. Yet, it was my fault, sleeping all those nights at 12-1 PM slowly was killing me but I didn’t know or care. There are a lot of events that we as an individual can’t control in life, yet the things we can is where it all counts. Sleep is so amazing that it can change your mood and help build your esteem for the future. Slowly build a better self and it will construct an amazing ending.

One response to “I’m always tired-Why? Is there a Solution?”

  1. Beautiful post here Friend. Through the hustle and bustle of life and the desire to do everything, we end up wearing ourselves out. For stress, I recommend a few things. First, start by putting God first, and begin your day with a prayer to God and a heart for God. God is able to orchestrate several things and he can use divine assistance to make our day easier. Second, we need to treat our body like a temple. Energy giving foods are a great resource. Thirdly, we need to take little breaks every now and then to refresh.

The most important of these is God. When things get tough, we can always reach out to him for help.

The Bible says in Philippians 4:6
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God”.

    God says in Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.

If anyone reading is interested in building a relationship with God, I have a post on that here: https://christcenteredruminations.wordpress.com/2018/08/29/how-to-build-a-relationship-with-god/

There is much more to know about God. I post frequently on my blog about topics related to God. You are welcome to follow my blog to keep up with my content. See my blog here: https://christcenteredruminations.wordpress.com/
